The California Watercolor Association (CWA) may use any information you submit to us about yourself in order to keep you up to date with the latest information about CWA, the website, and improve your website experience. Please note that your information is not shared with any other party, except as strictly necessary to process membership applications, workshop registrations, show entries, and merchandise orders, or as required by law. We understand your need to maintain your privacy when using the internet.
Information we collect and how we may use it:
We may collect both personally identifiable (name, email, address, phone, debit or credit card information) and non-personally identifiable (city, zip code, country) information. CWA does not collect your debit or credit information at our online site; we refer all such transactions to PayPal for secure processing. If you send us a paper membership application and wish to pay by debit or credit card, then we will collect credit card or debit card number, address and billing information to enable us to process the application. The other time we collect such information is when someone wishes to purchase artwork or merchandise.
Online payments for membership, workshops, show entries, and store purchases is handled for CWA by PayPal, which is a secure payment site. We receive information from PayPal confirming that a payment has been made, the amount paid and by whom so that we can credit purchases of membership, workshops, show entries, or merchandise.
If you are not a member of CWA and wish to sign up for workshops, shows, or purchase merchandise, we may request your contact information (name, email address, etc.).
The mailing list is used to distribute our electronic and paper newsletters that informs you of pending events, upcoming shows, and important news. We may also in the future have a survey to request input on website from our users.
We do not sell, trade, donate, or rent personal information…EVER!
Our online directory will not show your email address but does have an icon to allow a member to send you an email. This may result in unsolicited messages from other members such as occasional requests to volunteer for CWA activities and similar CWA-related purposes.
CWA does not maintain a public forum, such as a a bulletin board or chat room, where you would be requested to disclose personal contact information (i.e. address, phone number, etc.). If you get requests from strangers claiming to represent CWA in public forums such as bulletin boards or chat rooms, if you provide personal information, you hereby accept all risks associated with any such disclosure and acknowledge that the California Watercolor Association, CWA, californiawatercolor.org, its board, members, agents, administrators, representatives, employees, successors, assigns, and attorneys shall have no responsibility or liability as a result of any such disclosure.
