CWA's first guest artist for 2013 will be Katherine Chang Liu, an internationally known painter, juror, and teacher who is a full-time exhibiting artist. An abstract painter, printmaker, and collage artist of international repute, Katherine has been featured in 19 books and 30+ magazines.

Katherine's work has appeared in many national shows, galleries and publications, such as NWS and the National Academy of Arts and Letters. She has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, had 37 solo shows, and juried over 80 exhibitions.

As in the acclaimed Taos Intensive Studies Seminar, Katherine's workshop is designed to address a common struggle – experienced artists with technical knowledge and experience who have yet to find their own voices. Katherine's focus is to help artists make their work more personal. She will have one-on-one discussions about the strength and direction of each student's work, covering prior work and work done during the class, and end with a group critique session.
